to the stillborn
in a village with a pest.

liberty,
from the teens
screaming wildly
in a concert or a rave,
liberty,
of the slaves
with the abolition
just over a century
that went away.

All pursuing happiness,
and love,
that fleeting thing
of our desires,
All pursuing something
so intangible,
that not life nor liberty
entail.

at times alive and dead inside
and others free within the bars set by our lives
the moments pass,
and then we say,
I felt so happy then,
and did not know the way.
